Mr. Severino is married to Julie Severino a Senior Claims Adjuster in SCIF’s Rohnert Park district office. He has two step daughters and as he says, “three exceedingly cute grand daughters.” He was born and raised in the East Bay by his mother and currently lives in “beautiful Healdsburg.” Mr. Severino also serves proudly as a shop steward for the Service Employees International Union, Local 10000.

He graduated from CSU Chico in 1984 with BA degrees in Psychology and Social Science (Major Concentration- Public Administration, Minor Concentration-Collective Bargaining). He was hired in 1986 by State Compensation Insurance Fund as a Claims Adjuster in the Santa Rosa District Office. After three years adjusting claims, he accepted a position as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, which he held for seven years. For the last nine years, he has held the title of Return to Work Consultant and with the advent of Senate Bills 228 in 2003 and 899 in 2004, he has been unofficially designated the office expert on the Supplemental Job Displacement Benefit and the effects of Return to Work on Permanent Disability.
